CLMI AT THE GLOBAL TRANSPORT POLICY ANNUAL MULTIMODAL ROUNDTABLE

The Courier and Logistics Management Institute (CLMI) was proudly represented at the Global Transport Policy Annual Multimodal Roundtable, themed: “Transforming Nigeria’s Transport System: Integrating Solutions for Safety, Efficiency and Sustainability.”

Distinguished Professor Simon Emeje, Executive Chairman of CLMI, was ably represented by the Institute’s Registrar, Mr. Kayode Jacobs, who delivered a compelling position as a panelist and received a prestigious award on behalf of Professor Simon Emeje, a recognition of the Executive Chairman’s outstanding contributions to the advancement of Nigeria’s transport and logistics sector.

Speaking at the roundtable, Mr. Jacobs emphasised that beyond infrastructure investment, the government must demonstrate a stronger and more deliberate commitment to Nigeria’s transportation sector, particularly in the areas of training, professional certification, and workforce development.
He noted that a truly modern transport system demands more than roads, railways, ports, and airports. It requires skilled, certified professionals capable of managing, sustaining, and optimising those assets for long-term national benefit.

Mr. Jacobs further called for greater government participation and strategic partnership with professional bodies such as CLMI to bridge the industry’s growing skills gap and accelerate Nigeria’s socioeconomic development.

It was a proud moment for the Institute as Mr. Kayode Jacobs received the award on behalf of Distinguished Professor Simon Emeje, affirming CLMI’s growing influence and respected voice in shaping transport policy and professional standards across Nigeria and the African continent.
