NBCC MEETS THE POST MASTER GENERAL EVENT

Distinguished Prof. Simon Emeje, Executive Chairman of the Courier and Logistics Management Institute (CLMI), participated as a panelist at the recently concluded “NBCC Meets the Postmaster-General” event organized by the Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC).

The event, held at the NBCC event hall on Olubunmi Owa Street off Admiralty Way, opposite FC Towers, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, attracted top logistics and courier practitioners.

In his panel discussion, Prof. Emeje emphasized the crucial role of the Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department (CLRD) in the government sector, stressing the need for increased awareness of the significance of industry to the government. He highlighted the independence of NIPOST’s regulators, stating that their role is to oversee the sector nationwide.

Prof. Emeje also noted that the logistics industry is worth over 3 trillion naira and has the potential to generate 15% of the country’s total budget.

Distinguished professor Simon Emeje was also presented with an award of recognition by the President and chairman of the Council, NBCC.

The event was attended by notable figures such as Tola Opeyemi, Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO of the Nigerian Postal Service(NIPOST); Mr. Auwalu Babura, GMD of Redstar Express Plc; Dr. Oludotun Shounde, MD of CLRD; Mr. Ray Atelly frpa, President & Chairman of Council, NBCC; Pharm. Chizomam Ann Emeje, MD of Troop Pharmaceuticals and Vice Chairman of CLMI; Madam Ndidi Nduka, Business Development Person at CLMI, among others.

The event featured an interactive Q&A session, robust panel discussions, and high-level networking opportunities, providing a mind-blowing experience for many participants.
